Kraspesspitze (2954m) and Weitkarspitze (2947m) through west couloirs from Kühtai to Haggen
This is the “proper” Kühtai-to-Sellrain classic: climb from Kühtai into the high basin, tag Kraspesspitze, then keep the day going with the Weitkarspitze add-on before dropping all the way to Haggen. Really nice day out on a firn day.
Ochsenkopf (2148 m) and Bärenkopf (1991 m) from Pertisau
An exciting loop starting right at Lake Achensee.
Nördlicher Klammerschober (2448 m) through Mölstal
Beautiful tour with a longer, flat valley ascent. Great option for bad conditions day, when steeper tours might be too dangerous.
Rappenspitze (2223 m) and Lunstkopf (2142 m) from Pertisau
An engaging loop in the eastern part of the Karwendel mountains. Like its larger siblings to the west, this tour begins and ends with a long, flat approach.
Vorderer Wilder Turm (3177m) from Franz-Senn-Hütte
Starting from the winter approach from Seduck to the Franz-Senn Hut (+7km and 700vm), this demanding ski mountaineering tour leads via the Verborgener Bergferner Glacier and the striking Turmscharte notch to a panoramic three-thousand-meter peak with an interesting technical summit in the central touring area of the Stubai Alps.
Route:
Hochtenspitze (2.549 m) from Axamer Lizum
One of the less popular summits accessible from Axamer Lizum, with a short scramble to the summit cross.
Längentaler Weißer Kogel (3217 m) from Lüsens
Ski tour from Lüsens through the Längental to the Längentaler Weißer Kogel.
Hintere Ölgrubenspitze (3296m) from Kaunertal
A great tour if you are looking for a bit of solitude in the big mountains of Tirol. Mostly long valley tour with a short steep summit slope to Hintere Ölgrubenspitze (3296m).
Hintere Sonnenwand (3106m) from St. Sigmund im Sellrain
A great ski tour off the beaten path in Gleirsch Valley in Sellrain to a seldom visited summit of HIntere Sonnenwand.
Schafseitenspitze (2604m) from Navis
Ski tour from Navis to Stippleralm and via Stippleralm-Hochleger to Schafseitenspitze
Dawinkopf (2970m) from Grins
A nice and relatively long ski route to the summit of Dawinkopf, with a steep couloir in the end and a bit of scrambling to the summit cross.
Reither Spitze (2374m) from Seefeld
A very interesting summit and an extra couloir in Reither Kar with exposed skiing on the summit slope.
The “Gacher Tod” Couloir from Halltal
A narrow north couloir in Halltal, close to Innsbruck. A great and very accessible line.
Muttekopf (2774 m) from Hochimst
A ski tour from Hochimst through Muttekopfhütte and a south face to the summit of Muttekopf.
Hoher Seeblaskogel (3235 m) from Lüsens
A popular tour in the Westfalenhaus skimo area, with excellent skiing and beautiful panoramic views.
Winnebacher Weißkogel (3182 m) from Lüsens
A great spring summit in Sellrain with long valleys and steep final face. Winnerbacher Weißkogel is also sometimes possible in early winter in good avalanche conditions.
Lüsener Spitze (3231 m) from Lüsens
A great option for a relatively low-exposure glacier adventure in the alpin terrain of Sellrain. Lüsener Spitze is a beautiful tour in large open spaces.
Ruderhofspitze (3473 m) Southface from Mutterbergalm
A true Tyrollean spring classic to the summit of Ruderhofspitze in Stubai Alps through its south face. Steep face, which often has excellent firn conditions.
Gaiskogel (2820m) North-face from Haggen
A great tour to the summit of Gaiskogel (2820m) in Kühtai. The north side of the mountain is a lot less visited and a lot more technically interesting ascend route.
