A runnable round through beautiful forests above the village of Telfs.
Starting point: Sportplatz Telfs
Ending point: Sportplatz Telfs
Length: 29km
Vertical: 1500m
Speed: Flow-y runnable trails and forest roads.
Route:
We start off south and downhill from the parking lot for a few hundred meters before turning west and crossing the streets of Telfs until reaching the trails. For a lot of this route, it makes sense to follow the GPX track as the trails are winding through the forests and there are not many good navigation points to anchor yourself against.
After crossing the road, we turn back east and start ascending slowly until reaching the Thöni aluminium factory. We cross the plant and join the trail continuing east above the village. We cross the Arzbergklamm (a small gorge) at its mouth and start ascending more steeply uphill on its right hand (eastern) side. After a few hundred vertical meters, the trail becomes a lot flatter and leads us through some amazing forests full of colors.
There is one more steeper uphill that eventually leads us to cross the main road (Buchener Landesstraße). From here the trail becomes mostly downhill with only a few rolling hills, leading high up above the Inn valley towards the village of Mösern. The entrance to the village has a viewing point with a large bell.
After Mösern, the trail declines a bit more steeply for a few kilometers before turning back west and leading us back to Telfs. The way back sticks to the theme of flowing trails and forest roads, with a couple of short uphills. There are many possible variants, but if you follow the GPX track, you will be back to the parking lot in no time.
